ABOUT KATHLEEN HANAGAN

Kathleen Hanagan draws from her expertise as a therapist and coach in training individuals and teams.  Her achievements in this regard include helping organizations to develop leaders and to implement personal and cultural changes, which improve communication and overall performance.  She is a seasoned public speaker, an accomplished psychodramatist and group facilitator, and has trained other healthcare professionals at the post-graduate level.

One of Kathleen’s guiding professional philosophies is that true health comes from attending to the domains of emotion, body, language, and spirit.  Accordingly, she employs an integrative approach, and brings a depth to her work as an accomplished trainer, with extensive experience in developing and delivering dynamic workshops and seminars. She has led team-building interventions and facilitated conflict resolution meetings.  and is adept at creating a climate of safety during times of change.

In 2001, Kathleen founded Point of Change, P.C., a practice focusing on the dynamics of organizational change based on core values.  As a qualified user of Cultural Transformation Tools1, Kathleen’s techniques include the use of a 360° multi-rater feedback instrument, as well as a values-based assessment, which informs executives and their teams as to where the focus of change must be.  Point of Change clients are empowered to achieve optimal resource utilization while facilitating maximum growth on all levels: individual, relational, organizational, and societal.

For eight years prior to founding Point of Change, P.C., Kathleen directed The Center for Integrative Therapy, which she co-founded in 1992.  As the Center’s Director, she managed diverse healthcare practitioners, published a newsletter, and supervised colleagues in personal and business development activities.

Kathleen has developed mastery in the domain of emotional intelligence, and offers a unique and inspiring style, which challenges individuals and groups to transcend self-established limitations.  Rather than encouraging “outside-the-box” thinking, Kathleen strives to help her clients see that there is no box at all. She is able to see people for who they truly are, bringing out their gifts and talents.   She encourages people to see with “new eyes” and to accept full responsibility for their choices.  Her compassionate and often humorous approach promotes creativity, fosters trust, and enhances cooperation within and among teams.  She has a way of guiding even the most resistant learners to become more effective on the job while increasing job satisfaction, with benefits that often extend to their personal lives.

Among Kathleen’s areas of particular strength is her talent for helping leaders to know and trust their intuitive abilities as an added dimension to the skill sets they bring to their jobs.  She is a qualified user of the Enneagram as a tool for personal and professional understanding, and uses Voice Dialogue and role-play to enhance her work.

A 1989 graduate of Columbia University with a Master’s Degree in Social Work, she is also a certified Imago Therapist, and a Trainer Educator and Practitioner of Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy (TEP).  She is an active member of the National Association of Social Workers, the International Coach Federation, Imago Relationship Internationl, and The Association for Sociometry, Group Psychotherapy, and Psychodrama (ASGPP). She has been trained by Mentor Coach, and has her coaching certification from the Newfield Network
